About the Course

yoga sangha side_edited.jpg

While walking the yogic/spiritual path, and engaging in regular practice, the community we surround ourselves with plays a crucial role. In most yogic philosophies, there is an emphasis on a “truth-seeking community” or satsangha.

Yoga Sangha is a unique community that comes together twice a week to read, share, and learn together, supporting and witnessing each other’s growth. The ancient wisdom of yoga can sometimes be complicated to make sense of, and finding time to access authentic sources or read books from different schools of thought can be challenging. Additionally, gaining different perspectives on how people embody the same concept in various ways can be invaluable.

In the presence of a facilitator, Yoga Sangha reads a book together every month. These books range from practical wisdom, like Sri M’s "On Meditation," to the sayings of Sri Ramakrishna, classics like Saundarya Lahiri to the Bhagavad Gita, and thematic books such as "Dharma of a Disciple" during the Guru Purnima month.

We read, share, listen, support, and meditate on teachings from various wisdom traditions like Yoga, Shaivism, Shaktism, Buddhism, and Sufism.
